Overpriced series that never seems to end...

You know what I really hate? Authors that give us under 50 pages of reading material, charge $2.99 for each episode, and drag out the series FOREVER. I believe this series is up to 7 episodes. It doesn't matter how good the story and writing may be, how can you enjoy the "book" when you are feeling ripped off?

Wow! I love this series, or I should say serial because the story is being released in regular installments. None of the books in this serial are standalone reads and each release does contain a cliffhanger (except the ninth and final installment which ties things up nicely) but maybe I'm just a bit weird because I love this concept, especially when the book is part of the Kindle Unlimited program which is how I'm reading this story. These short installments are perfect for a quick naughty break. Now having warned everyone right up front, I'd like to talk about the story itself. Quite frankly, this is my first time reading Deana Farrady's work and I had no idea what to expect. I saw an advertisement offering the first book for free and after reading the blurb, I decided I would try it, read a few pages and if I didn't like it, I'd just stop reading. Well, I didn't stop reading because I couldn't! I was immediately drawn into this story and fortunately there were six more books in the series already available so I binged and read all seven in one sitting. I loved it! I'm a little fickle about reviewing a 'new to me' author so I decided to hold off on leaving a review until I had a better grasp of the story and the author's talent but now after having read the first eight books, I can honestly state that I'm very impressed with Farrady's skill as a writer. Some people are born with a natural innate ability as a storyteller and Farrady seems to be abundantly blessed with this gift. I was also impressed by her language skills. This story is beautifully written with good grammar and spelling, great sentence structure, good punctuation and exceptional vocabulary/word skills. The narrative is written in the third person with alternating his and her points of view. The dialogue is seductive, well executed and flows effortlessly. But it's the magnificent cast of well developed characters that will draw you in and steal your heart. The interaction and sexual chemistry between the male and female protagonists is so darn hot, it sizzles! I know this breakdown of the story may sound pretty boring but it takes all of these elements to craft a great book rather than just a good book. I'm not a professional reviewer but I do know what I like, what I love and what I don't, and I truly love this story.
Hot Vengeance is the first release in The Alpha Billionaire's Revenge and believe me when I say, it is definitely a dark romance as the title states and not for the meek of heart but if you love a steamy, seductive read filled to the brim with danger, drama, blackmail, suspense,revenge, erotic domination and dreamy sex, then you will love this story!
Handsome billionaire Jonas Westerling has everything wealth could offer - money, clothes, real estate, an endless string of women vying for his attention but there's still one thing he wants more life itself. Jonas Westerling wants revenge and he's determined to have it. He's been planning it for 10 long years and he will not be denied. Timid, naive Linnea Melbourne has had very little experience with men, sex and life in general. She's definitely not a social butterfly and only wants to finish her schooling, find a good job and be left alone. But when she's literally abducted and forced to meet the wealthy billionaire Jonas Westerling, she has no idea what's happening or why - until she realizes that he has obviously mistaken her for her twin. She's immediately drawn to the handsome, dark, brooding and often cruel businessman but how can you be attracted to someone who wants to destroy you? Someone you know you should hate??? And how can she prevent him from discovering that the person he seeks is not her but actually her twin sister? Well, that's quite the quandary, isn't it??? One that may put Linnea in harm's way. Unfortunately Jonas Westerling is a man with enemies who have now become a threat to Linnea's safety - enemies who now see Linnea as the perfect means to destroy Jonas Westerling. Oh my! No spoilers from me but I will say this...Handsome and sometimes cruel billionaire intent on revenge-check! Beautiful young woman determined to protect her sister regardless of the cost-check! Danger, drama, lies, blackmail, mystery, suspense and intrigue-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, arousing domination, steamy sex and dreamy romance-you bet! That and a whole lot more! I can hardly wait to read the next installment!

I use this book as a text book for my introduction to ethics course at a local community college. This book is not only great for a text but also very interesting to read. Some of the selections are difficult to understand and are difficult reading but over all it is a great book for those wishing to gain a broad base of knowledge on a variety of moral theories and issues.

Excellent Book

This is the best book available on the interrelationship between ethics and literature. Seeing the moral dimension of the works of Hawhorne, Hugo, Huxley, LeGuin and scores of others highlights the importance of morality in our lives and awakens the imagination to possibilities hitherto ignored. This is a wonderful book which every intlligent person should read.

A great introductory reader...just draw your own conclusions

I felt compelled to write this review after seeing certain things in other reviews which attack the character of this man, rather than the quality of the passages contained in the text. I hope that this review will educate individuals about the text, as well as the passages contained in the text.

Firstly i take issue with this personal attack on Pojman. Yes, I disagree with 99% percent of what this man believes on issues concerning morality, but I don't think attacking his character is a fair way to review his text. Secondly, many people, including my fellow students, felt as though Pojman presented his opinions in a fundamentalist light, which would certainly follow because of his own beliefs. Though there are certainly shades of fundamentalism and even neo-conservatism in this book, is that necessarily a bad thing?

The purpose of this book was to present ethics in as many ways as possible. Though there does seem to be an proportionately large amount of material in here that most postmodern, existential, utilitarian, conflict theorist, etc... would disagree with. It is important for a college student in an intro to ethics class to be exposed to different points of view, even if they aren't popular.

And all the popular points are certainly there as well. Nietzsche, Mill, Dostoevsky, Hobbes. Certainly this book could have been more comprehensive and presented in a more relative light (as Pojman will show favoritism in painfully obvious ways) but hey, as far as intro to ethics books go this is about as good as it gets. Most level-headed college students that walk into a class that uses this book will walk out remembering the classic texts, and not the obscurities carefully selected by Pojman.

There is a great cross-section of selections here that will undoubtedly upon the mind of any college student. I highly recommend this book, just be careful and draw your own conclusions.

Note to professors: Please teach this class carefully, as if you strictly assign material and do not go over it in a comprehensive manner, students may walk away with nothing more than the opinions of an inferior ethicist. Still you could do much worse than this book.

Indeed, this book is the last edition of a book first published on 1997, that has remained unmatched since then, this new edition includes new material on the domestic front, covering Austria-Hungary's internal political frictions and ethnic fissures and more on Austria-Hungary and Germany's position within the wider geopolitical framework.
This book begins examining how every power got involved in the war, and which war plan was prepared by them. The book , then follows the development of the conflict, with special attention to the main battles: Tannenberg, the Marne, Gallipoli, Western Front on 1915, Verdun, the Somme, Lutsk, Romania, U-boot warfare, the Nivelle Offensive, Caporetto, Operation Michael.
Three chapters of this wonderful book are dedicated to examine the effects of the total war imposed to the Central Powers .
The book is full of first hand accounts and of detailed maps; no important aspect of this terrible war is missing.
