Clean entertainment.

This is the first book by Abramson that I have read. And I have to say that I quite enjoyed it and definitely plan to read more books by her, especially in the Saints Squad series. The fact that I have a weakness for main characters that are military men doesn't hurt any. ;) I enjoyed meeting Craig who is a Navy SEAL but isn't so tough that he shuts out emotion. It helps that the squad he works with is mostly LDS (Mormon). As a newbie he still has a lot to learn, but things change quite a bit when he inadvertently runs into a famous young actress named Sienna Blake. Sienna is in the area to start filming an action movie and runs into Craig on the beach when Craig tackles her bodyguard thinking he's following her. Things pick up a bit when Craig's unit steps in to help with security at Sienna's sister's wedding reception. As Craig and Sienna's relation continues to develop despite Craig's unit leaving for a mission, both struggle with how to adapt to the other's very different lifestyle. But when it becomes apparent that someone is trying to hurt Sienna, Craig steps up his efforts to protect her with compromising his own identity. The romance between Sienna and Craig was a sweet one and developed relatively naturally (as naturally as a relationship between a movie star and a Navy SEAL can develop). The details of the mission Craig goes on is interesting and a bit nerve racking as Craig deals with the aftermath. And Sienna's ongoing struggles with publicity and privacy also add depth to the story.

LDS Romantic Suspense- Love this series!

I was so, so excited to read this book! I love the Saint Squad series and I love Traci Abramson's books. Happy is the day a new book comes out for me to delve into.

Craig is the newest member of the Navy Seal team dubbed the "Saint Squad". He is still trying to find his place among this tight knit group of men. Craig is a defender. He takes his jobs seriously and he is dedicated. He just oozes all strong man, all the time.

Sienna and Craig meet when Craig thinks he is saving her from a stalker guy on the beach. Oops, wasn't a stalker, but Sienna is impressed with Craig and asks for his help with her upcoming movie. I enjoyed the growing relationship between Craig and Sienna. It had a natural flow to it even though the circumstances were anything but normal.

This book is a romantic suspense. It's not heavy on the suspense so even a "won't read scary" girl like me can read and enjoy it thoroughly.

Content: Clean! No swearing or sexual content. LDS fiction- some religious elements mentioned as the characters are LDS but nothing preachy.

It's a another hit. I admit this one seemed slower and not as action packed as others. Still it was good. It was a great story line and pulled me right in. Still it felt a little fizzled compared to the others.

As with previously reviewed `Crash course' books, these texts are written for students by students, as such the understanding of the subject matter is made much easier due to the author considering your current knowledge is null and void! What I enjoy the most about these books is how everything is broken down, right back to basics, to understand for example, `HOW' ATP is generated, and although when flicking through the book you may be tempted to put it right back on the shelf when you see some of the diagrams of certain synthesis productions and their subsequent stages, the supporting text does take you through each stage step by step. The chapters on vitamins and minerals I believe would be of benefit for student nurses due to further understanding chemical implications and the chapter on metabolic disease is excellent detailing why they occur, complications and symptoms.

This is THE most amazing book to teach you about metabolism and nutrition! It takes a complicated subject and breaks it down into tiny bites, in simple language, making the concepts easy to follow and absorb. Plus the authors tell you facts that other authors either don't tell you at all or present in ways that are often confusing and misleading to students. Extraneous and unnecessary details are left out, and even the graphs and the accompanying texts are great. Learning about Metabolism, nutrition and even the physiopathologic bases of disease becomes almost fun!

Largely a waste of time.

Although I agreed with the perspective of the author more often than not, this textbook has an unmistakably liberal slant. The author's first priority seems to be indoctrinating students into his point of view on various academic disputes, as opposed to providing students with practical knowledge about property law and it's day-to-day applications. Many of the issues discussed at length are interesting, but our familiarity with them has no utility to our future clients or employers.

Singer: Good intentions, poor execution

As a 1L using Singer's "Property Law: Rules Policies and Practices" as my assigned property textbook, I have strong issues with this book. I'll divide them into two sections: content and formatting.

Content, 3/5: It seems like Singer covers most, if not all, of the relevant material, drawing on relevant and typically interesting cases. However, the material could be presented in a much more logical manner. When outlining, I compared the sections of his book to the Gilbert Law Summaries: Property; the way Dukeminier organizes the material makes a lot more sense. For example, Singer discusses water rights in a chapter on nuisance, while Dukeminier covers it in a section on acquisition of property. It just seems to flow more naturally (no pun intended) that way. This occurs in several places, making outlining using a study aid a necessary step.

Note: Singer obviously has a strong interest in Indian Law, which he demonstrates throughout. I think that's a good thing, as I find Native American legal issues interesting. If you aren't interested in Indian law, consider a different book.

Formatting, 2/5: As a reader, this book is terrible on the eyes. The font used is much too small, requiring constant squinting. The paper is so flimsy that highlighting or handwritten notes, or even the text on the other side of pages, readily shows through and becomes distracting. There isn't enough leading (spacing between lines) to allow one's eyes to track, resulting in constant re-reading.

Moreover, this 4th edition needs a better copy editor. I've noticed several missing words, incorrect usage of words and insertion of phrases that makes some sentences confusing and looks unprofessional. Is the thing so long (1,202 pages) he couldn't get anyone to read the whole book to check for such simple mistakes?

Sadly enough, I still reference this all the time. It's literally in my truck right now. I'm not even a lawyer, but I have a ton of dogeared pages relating to IP, etc.

This book questions whether the practice of martial arts in physical actor training encourages a physicality with its origins in masculinised regimentation. The training of the body of the actor in physical practices, historically connected with the martial and military sphere, assumes that disciplining methods can lead to a ?neutral?, ?natural? or ?universal? body, which leaves out of account the question of cultural context and gender identity. The book examines key training methods theoretically and explores how actor training might resist such masculinised regimentation. It analyses physical exercises, derived from the martial and militaristic spheres, in well-established actor training approaches of the twentieth-century. The book proposes an alternative training structure inspired by capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art.

This book contributes a unique theoretical perspective on how martial arts training methods are being used in the process of contemporary actor training.
